Green Cover Initiative Rwanda
GCI (Green Cover Initiative) Rwanda is an NGO: non-profit making organization operating in Rwanda with its head office in Gasabo District, Kigali city.
GCI Rwanda was established in June 2009 and in 2012 was legally recognized and registered by RGB (Rwanda Governance Board) as an NGO under registration number No.: 159/NGO/RGB and received its civil personality in 2014 under registration number No.: 113/2014.

A world in which people have good living conditions through sustainable use of natural resources.
Mission:
GCI Rwanda’s mission is to contribute to the socio-economic development of Rwandan communities through efficient use of natural resources, improved access to finance and environmentally friendly agriculture.
Objectives of the Organization:
– Empowering people for Climate change adaptation and mitigation;
– Efficient use of natural resources;
– Promotion of environmental education among rural communities;
– Promotion of income generating activities;
– Empowerment of rural farmers on the commercial integrated agriculture;
Organizational structure
The management structure of GCI Rwanda is formed of the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the Coordination unit which designs and coordinates all project activities.
GCI Rwanda has a management committee that follows regularly the use of funds as they are acquired from various donors for the implementation of different projects. GCI Rwanda manages those funds according to the source and norms of the donor. It has bank accounts in the Bank of Kigali and BPR Bank and all payments are made by issuing cheques or receipts for those made on petty cash. All the invoices payment is prepared by the accountancy department, verified by the financial manager, authorized by the coordinator, and approved by the Legal representative depending on the amount. The internal financial and technical reports are produced monthly, quarterly, and annually. The external audit is made annually and other reports are made when needed or according to the convention with the donors.
All reports are made at the level of coordination and approved by the Representative of GCI Rwanda.
